The construction of new data centers continues to boom in Japan, but compared to the United States and China, it is said that there are still not enough data centers. The government also recognizes the importance of developing IT infrastructure, including the spread of AI. From the perspective of the JDCC, a group of data centers in Japan, we will explain the direction for future IT infrastructure development.
As AI reshapes digital infrastructure, data center operators and investors are racing to upgrade their capabilities—but at what cost? This panel dives into the often-overlooked business risks of investing in AI infrastructure. From skyrocketing power demands and hardware obsolescence to talent shortages, regulatory uncertainty, and vendor lock-in, the panel will challenge conventional assumptions and offer practical insights for navigating the high-stakes AI landscape.
Are you investing for transformation—or heading into a tech trap?
To meet the rapidly growing demand for AI, data centers are becoming increasingly dense with GPU-equipped servers, where more power and cooling energy are required. There is a strong demand for improving energy efficiency, especially in cooling systems, from a sustainability perspective. This presentation will provide a practical explanation of new cooling technologies, including liquid cooling, and how to deploy them.
The AI revolution isn’t just transforming compute—it’s redefining the demands placed on global connectivity infrastructure. As AI workloads explode in scale, latency sensitivity, and geographic distribution, networks must evolve rapidly to keep pace. This session explores the cascading impact AI has on subsea cables, fiber networks, edge computing, and interconnect ecosystems.
What does it take to keep up with AI’s insatiable appetite for data movement? And who foots the bill when AI models outpace the current internet architecture?
The cloud is no longer just a platform—it’s the engine of global innovation. At the heart of this transformation is AWS, delivering resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure that empowers everything from startups to the world’s largest enterprises.
This keynote takes you behind the scenes of how AWS delivers its cloud at scale—across availability zones, regions, and continents. Discover how AWS is redefining cloud infrastructure with advanced automation, sustainable energy practices, hyperscale design, and cutting-edge interconnectivity.
Challenges and opportunities presented by AI, particularly in areas such as high-density power solutions, advanced cooling technologies, and sustainable energy management
As the world races to build digital infrastructure at unprecedented scale, the intersection of geopolitics and construction logistics is becoming impossible to ignore. U.S. tariffs on Chinese technology and equipment are not just affecting direct trade—they’re reshaping the global supply chains that power Asia’s booming data center industry.
This keynote will examine how tariff-driven disruptions, semiconductor restrictions, and shifting geopolitical alliances are influencing construction timelines, capital allocation, and equipment sourcing across key Asian markets. We’ll explore the cascading impact on cost structures, project risk, and long-term infrastructure planning—and how industry leaders can adapt with smarter procurement, diversified partnerships, and modular, future-ready strategies.
Best practice datacentre management is required to deal with the growing demands on data centres in the context of requirements for continuous availability and cost (and carbon) efficiency. This presentation will describe the process of achieving an overview across the entire data centre and a view of where risks to operations are highest. The keynote will also take the data centre forward in time as AI and other demand sources ratchet up the pressures on data centre operation and management.
In today’s always-on, cloud-driven world, data centers are no longer passive infrastructure—they are dynamic, intelligent ecosystems that must respond in real time. From surging AI workloads to rising energy costs and ever-tightening SLAs, the pressure to deliver reliability, efficiency, and sustainability has never been greater.
This keynote explores the growing importance of real-time analysis and control in the modern data center. Learn how next-generation platforms are enabling operators to predict failures before they happen, optimize energy usage on the fly, and automate responses to mission-critical thresholds—all while reducing operational overhead.
As AI becomes the defining force behind enterprise transformation and data center expansion, questions are mounting about its energy footprint and long-term environmental impact. But what if AI isn’t just the challenge—it’s part of the solution?
This panel brings together technologist, sustainability and infrastructure leaders to explore how AI and sustainability can coexist—and even complement each other. From advanced cooling systems and carbon-aware compute to AI-powered energy optimization and modular infrastructure, we’ll dive into real-world strategies that are helping operators build smarter, greener AI-ready facilities.
As hyperscalers accelerate their expansion into Japan, they’re confronted with a complex landscape: land constraints, rising energy costs, labor shortages, and increasingly dense AI workloads. But what if the playbook to navigate this already exists?
In this keynote, we explore how fast-growing data center service provider—battle-tested in Malaysia the world’s most emerging digital market—can offer hyperscalers a strategic edge in Japan. Leveraging the unique Full Prefab Modular Buidling Data Center Solution, BrightRay brings rapid construction timelines and energy-efficient AI infrastructure to the table.
As AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing become enterprise priorities, the pressure to scale compute power is growing fast. But should companies invest in their own GPU infrastructure—or embrace the flexibility of GPU-as-a-Service?
This panel brings together cloud providers, infrastructure leaders, and enterprise IT strategists to explore the real trade-offs of migrating to GPUaaS. We’ll unpack the cost models, security concerns, performance implications, and long-term strategy behind moving high-compute workloads off-prem.
With AI, IoT, edge computing, and multi-cloud infrastructure accelerating globally, the pressure on the internet’s backbone—its IP addressing system—is intensifying. IPv4 is officially exhausted, and while IPv6 adoption is rising, challenges around implementation, interoperability, and awareness persist.
This session dives into the future of Internet Protocol: what’s next for IPv6, what’s stalling adoption, and how a truly hyperconnected world demands a rethinking of how we assign, secure, and scale digital identity across billions—soon trillions—of devices and workloads.
Japan’s digital environment is primarily networked around the metropolitan hubs of Tokyo and Osaka in the west. Given that a distributed configuration enables the smooth coordination and exchange of large-volume data, we are exploring edge configurations beyond these core cities to other regions.
In Kyushu, as well as Hokkaido in the north and Okinawa in the south, key groups responsible for planning, proposing, and implementing essential digital infrastructure are actively contributing to the development of Japan’s next-generation network.
In this session, these two groups will discuss the progress of their initiatives and the future of Japan’s digital infrastructure. Their insights will offer valuable perspectives on emerging digital business opportunities both within Japan and internationally.”
